Big Del Mar Meet Plans for LRF

The summers in Del Mar are about as good as it gets. Sun, fun and great racing. It provides the biggest stage and purses and this year LRF is poised to make a huge splash.

“We’re expecting an LRF record 20 starters, maybe 30,” said LRF Managing Partner Billy Koch on opening day. “New Bay kicks things off Sunday July 25 and we couldn’t be more excited for our partners.”

Besides New Bay, watch out for the Chilean sensation, Hard Bill. Coming off a win at Hollywood Park recently, Bill is eyeing the Grade I Pat O’Brien on August 28, 2010. “He’ll have a tune up race at the beginning of August and if all goes well, we’ll point him towards the Pat O’Brien,” said Koch.

Del Mar will also mark the return of Leothelion. On the Kentucky Derby trail in January before being sidelined with a minor injury, Leo will make his comeback on August 13 in an allowance race.

With Saint Isabelle, the debuts of Singletary babies Personalitary and Fifty Carots and the UHRV horses, it will be a busy summer for the LRF crew.
