Sire: Tale of the CatDam: Twin InductionYOB: 2010 Filly
Nekomata – named after the supernatural Japanese Cat with two tails – was our first “must have” of the sale. “She seemed professional and confident,” said McCrocklin. “She has an air about her that screams class.” By one of the world’s leading sires, Tale of the Cat (Gio Ponti, Lion Heart, etc.), out of a Slewacide mare, she’s bred to win early and like any surface. A son of classic sire Storm Cat, Tale of the Cat has quickly turned into one of the most prominent sires in North America. Tale of the Cat is the sire of Grade I winners Gio Ponti (Kilroe Mile, Arlington Million), Lion Heart (Haskell Invitational), and GI winner Tale of Ekati. Tale of the Cat is the sire of 71 stakes winners (30 graded) with earnings of over $71M. All five of Twin Induction’s foals who have started are winners. The Slewacide mare’s Rubiano’s Twin is also stakes placed. The dam is from the family of A.P. Adventure who earned over $355,000 while capturing the Las Virgenes Stakes (GI) at Santa Anita.
