Marty Wolfson’s love for thoroughbreds came directly from his father. He is the son of long time horse owner Louis Wolfson, who campaigned Affirmed, without a doubt one of the greatest racehorses to ever run. Wolfson became one of the youngest trainers in Florida when he took out his first license at age 18.

He has spent his entire career based at Calder Race Course where he ranks among the top 10 all-time leading trainers and was inducted into that track’s Hall of Fame in 2003. the highlight of Wolfson’s career came in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Mile when Miesque’s Approval surprised everyone by taking the race at 25-1.

Wolfson has also campaigned such notable horses as Pomeroy, The Vid, and Chaposa Springs. The Wolfson barn has dominated the filly and mare stakes at Calder in recent years, producing multiple stakes winners Mocita, Potra Classica and Prospective Saint.
